Pharos Secure Release – Installation & Mobile Setup Guide
Overview
Pharos Secure Release allows NTT workforce to securely submit print jobs and release them only after authenticating, in person, at a printer using a mobile device and QR code. Authentication is performed using Okta credentials to prevent unauthorized printing and protect sensitive documents. There are four printers in the SV1 facility as well as many printers in various NTT Data facilities around the world. We all use the same secure print solution.
Software required
To print you will need work with your respective IT department to install the proper software. They should have the software, but if not, please open a ticket with [email protected].
Installation Instructions – macOS
1. Download the Pharos Secure Release installer.
2. Open the downloaded PKG file.
3. Continue through the installer and accept the license agreement.
4. Click Install and enter administrator credentials when prompted.
5. Close the installer once completed.
6. Once installation is complete, do not attempt to print until the Mobile Setup Guide has been completed.
Installation Instructions – Windows
1. Download the Pharos Secure Release installer.
2. Run the installer file.
3. Approve User Account Control when prompted.
4. Follow the installation steps and accept the license agreement.
5. Complete installation and close the installer.
6. Once installation is complete, do not attempt to print until the Mobile Setup Guide has been completed.
Required Post-Install Step – Mobile Setup Guide
- After installation, users must open the Pharos Secure Release application and select 'Show Setup Guide'.
- Choose the Mobile Setup Guide and follow all on-screen steps.
During setup, users will:
Install the Pharos Secure Release mobile app
Authenticate using Okta credentials
Link their mobile device for QR code print release
Releasing a Print Job
1. Send a document to print.
2. Go to a Pharos-enabled printer.
3. Open the Pharos Secure Release mobile app.
4. Scan the QR code displayed on the printer.
5. Authenticate if prompted and release the job.
Troubleshooting
Ensure the Mobile Setup Guide is completed and Okta authentication is successful.
Restart the computer if printers do not appear
